She has always been a very capable, hard working woman. Well-educated and systematic, she has always relied on herself to make things happen. Starting with a small beauty business, she toiled day and night to keep her business profitable. Soon, her efforts paid off as her start up grew into three salons. It was an achievement for which she had to pay dearly with constant hard work which often sapped her energy and left her with not much time to even enjoy the fruits of her labor.
At BWL, Alice's definition of success has expanded. Here she realized the value of people. Interestingly, she finds that once a business leader becomes passionate about her team's success, it only adds up to her own meaningful achievement.
Alice believes that her success is based on three major factors: The first factor is belief. She believed in our Founders' legacy which has animated the company's vision and mission to embrace life and the best that it has to offer. At the same time, Alice believed in herself and in her team. The second is a new mindset and right attitudes. Alice quoted BWL People Development Manager Dr. Gan Kok Wee about the importance of "one's ability to integrate business into personal life." The third factor is consistent hard work. "Remain focused on your goals and just keep on working with persistent strength. Never ever give up," says Alice.
To this day, her upline's words still resonates "No matter how capable you are, success in traditional business can only go so far. Think of the parallel of the rickshaw puller – when the hand stops, the mouth stops."
